Multiple states and low to high end places and never an askew glance from staff. Ever. Sure, other patrons might have stared funny at me or commented or worse, but never staff. Owners, bartenders, and servers would come by, say hi and stay 10 minutes or more talking, even if we weren’t their tables!
Tonight, place we’ve been going to for 20+ years, where owner would stop by and chat every visit, it changed. He set new 50 yard dash record to get away from me. One glance and he just started stepping away.
Stupid to get upset. But, I still did. Hostess who sat us was amazing so it wasn’t institutional. Still, hurts.
